Source types and limits

SynTwin accepts:

  • .pdf
  • .docx
  • .pptx
  • .md
  • .txt
  • .csv

Binary files are uploaded to storage and processed. Text-like files are also read as text in the browser.

Sources can be:

  • Global — owner-level material that deployments can opt into.
  • Person-specific — attached to one person.

Deployments can further control which global sources are available.

SynTwin does not currently show an app-specific maximum file size in the upload UI.

Convex file storage does not define a fixed file-size limit for upload URLs, but the upload POST request has a 2-minute timeout. Very large files may fail or process poorly.

Prefer focused files over huge archives. Split large documents by topic when possible.

Use sources that are small enough to review and name clearly.

Avoid uploading:

  • Entire books
  • Massive exports
  • Duplicate transcript dumps
  • Private material unrelated to the SynTwin’s work

Use person-specific sources for relationship context, not global sources.
